Ellie Scannell

Ellie Scannell, Features Editor

Senior Ellie Scannell is starting her first year on staff as a Features Editor for the DGS Blueprint. For nearly her whole life, Scannell has had a passion for writing and everything to do with creative arts. With a strong interest in English and experience with news reporting, being an editor in the school newspaper felt like the perfect job for her.

In addition to Blueprint, Scannell plays on the varsity tennis team at DGS, where she fosters her competitive spirit and teamwork. She is also a member of various clubs such as ACE, Key club, Orchesis, Literary Magazine, Blue Crew and Snowball. She believes that getting involved in the community and being a leader for her peers are some of the most important principles to uphold.

Outside of school and sports, Scannell spends her time training and taking care of dogs at the West Suburban Humane Society. She also enjoys baking, working out, making crafts and traveling around the world. These hobbies reflect her ambitious, productive and creative personality.

Scannell has made the honor roll every year of high school, always striving to be the best student she can be. Although excelling most in English class, her work ethic and dedication extend to every subject, making Scannell a well-rounded student. She is also looking forward to starting college next year and hopes to further her education in writing and journalism.
