Yoldi Villa, Editor-in-Chief
Senior Yoldi Villa is an Editor-in-Chief for the DGS Blueprint. The 2025 to 2026 school year marks Villa’s second year on staff and third year with the publication. She plans to major in journalism at Northwestern University this fall.
Villa won her 2025 sectional for newspaper design and qualified for the 2025 journalism state team. She enjoys designing for Blueprint, so layout week is when she’s most focused and ready to help others. Whether it’s a non-functioning overlay or the words on the page aren’t fitting right, Villa uses her problem-solving skills to tackle problems for her peers.
She’s also received multiple IJEA awards for her writing, like best humorous commentary, best front-page design, and best alternative story telling. Villa’s been awarded two English department student recognition awards due to her commitment to writing and expressing herself through words.
Around the school, she’s involved in Blueprint, French club, French Honor Society and math tutoring.
Outside of class, Villa likes to create, whether it be in writing, journaling or even bracelet making. She also recently participated as a counselor-in-training at her summer camp, where she shadowed counselors and supported younger campers.
Villa is looking forward to another great year with the DGS Blueprint.
