Andrew Calek, Features Editor
Andrew Calek is a senior at DGS and a Features Editor for the Blueprint. This is Calek’s first year on staff, but he was awarded a Best of SNO for a student documentary and had three freelance articles published before joining the staff.
Calek is a three-year varsity golfer and one of three senior team captains at DGS. Outside of DGS Calek works as a caddy for Ruth Lake Country Club in Hinsdale, Ill. in the summer and works as a scorekeeper and supervisor for the Downers Grove Park District in the winter.
In the past Calek played travel baseball for six years for the Downers Grove Longshots and Burr Ridge. Calek also played travel basketball for the Downers Grove Nomads.
Calek has an interest in a career in communications with an emphasis in either journalism or broadcasting. Calek also would like to pursue a career in the professional golf management program.
