Libby Hatlen, Sports Editor
Junior Libby Hatlen is a Sports Editor for the Blueprint staff. Blueprint is Hatlen’s first experience in journalism, and she is excited to explore what being involved in journalism entails. She was inspired to get involved by her passion for English and her desire to improve her writing skills.
In addition to being on the Blueprint staff, Hatlen is involved in Athletes Committed to Excellence, Orchesis, serves as a Blue Crew and PE leader and is a member of the French honor society. Outside of school, Hatlen is a dancer in Versa5’s competition dance company and enjoys choreographing for them. She recently just choreographed the all-company dance for the 2025 recital.
After she graduates from high school, she plans to attend a 4-year college to later pursue Veterinary practice. At a young age, Hatlen volunteered at the West Suburban Humane Society, which sparked her interest in helping heal animals. Hatlen was also inspired to be a vet from her frequent trips to the dog park with her dog, Dakota.
During Hatlen’s free time, she enjoys going golfing and shopping with her friends. She also works at 4500 Fitness, along with being a special events/birthday party attendant at the Downers Grove Park District. Hatlen is excited to experience new things and push herself in her Junior year.
