Dear Friends,
We’d like to congratulate you on your successful protest against ICE actions in your community targeting your families and friends. We saw the video’s the evening of your well coordinated march with your peers at Downers Grove North to the downtown train station. We are all Downers South alumni and we totally support your walk out and how you are raising your voices against the injustices happening across our country. Some may say you’re doing this just to get out of class. We believe you are in fact walking out of one class and into another class where you’re learning how to fight and dismantle fascism in our country. We’d like you all to know that even at our age, we are also out in the streets of the cities we live in, protesting ICE, carrying signs, holding banners over bridge overpasses and working towards the same goals. We salute your efforts of trying to create a better future than what is currently being constructed without your consent. Just remember, the future is not carved in stone. When we all fight together, when we all put our hands on the arc of justice that Dr. King talked about, we will all bend it towards justice.
Keep up the Good Fight!
