Olivia Velazquez, News Editor
Senior Olivia Velazquez is a News Editor for the Blueprint staff and it is her second year on the staff. Besides journalism, Velazquez is also involved in Blue Crew, Mad Dash, Snowball, DECA and Key Club. She was on the DGS softball team her freshman year, as well as a travel softball league outside of school, but had to end her career due to injuries.
Velazquez’s interest in journalism was sparked when she took Journalistic Expression sophomore year. She hopes to reach her goals of winning awards her senior year for journalism and collaborating with her classmates as well.
After graduating high school, she plans on attending a 4-year college to pursue her love for marketing and fashion. Velazquez loves to keep up with new trends in the fashion industry and learning marketing skills to advance her knowledge.
When Velazquez isn’t writing she enjoys traveling, babysitting and working; she is currently an employee at a salon where she is a receptionist. Velazquez values close friendships and loves helping others by being a leader.
