Popeyes’ chicken sandwich: Love at first bite

The home of the best chicken sandwich: shut up and eat it.

I know what you’re thinking, how can someone be so obsessed with something as simple as a chicken sandwich? My answer: shut up and eat it.

If you haven’t heard of the Popeyes chicken sandwiches then you must be living under a rock. Not only did they go viral on the internet, causing major debates on Twitter and Instagram over who has the better chicken sandwich: Popeyes or Chick-fil-a? But there have been lines at Popeyes that literally loop around the store into busy streets causing traffic.

Don’t even get me started on the lines inside the restaurant. A YouTuber by the name of, “ROYALTY’S WORLD” made a video about how she stood in line for 24 hours to get a sandwich. I don’t blame her though, because the sandwich was probably the best thing I’ve ever eaten.

It’s been almost a month since the Popeyes chicken sandwich debut and it has already triumphed over any chicken sandwich from any other fast food chain in the world.

If you love chicken half as much as I do, then you are disrespecting yourself and all other chicken lovers in the world by not going to a Popeyes near you and putting your taste buds on that sandwich.

At a measly price of $3.99 for each sandwich, we customers can stack up on four to five of these sandwiches in exchange for $20.

Personally I prefer the classic sandwich over the spicy only because the classic gets the job done so perfectly that I feel like I don’t need that extra spice. I feel like spicy can sometimes remove the original flavor of the sandwich because I’m always reaching for a cold drink to wash down the burning sensation on my tongue.

The sandwich is visually appealing as well. There is no grease leaking out, which I find gross. The chicken is so crispy and big it makes you want you want to bite until there is none left.

Some may argue that Chick-fil-a has a better sandwich than Popeyes. When it comes down to the facts than yes, Chick-fil-a has less calories, less fat and is 20 cents cheaper than Popeyes chicken sandwich. But even with all those things, the buttery brioche buns combined with the crispy, hot chicken separates the two sandwiches by miles.

I would literally stop typing right now and give up on this article just to go to Popeyes down the street and get another chicken sandwich. The sandwich is literally that good.

If you haven’t tasted the Popeyes chicken sandwich, make sure you go soon because you truly are missing out on some serious sandwich craftsmanship. Don’t waste your time and money on the simple sandwiches of other fast food because trust me, they aren’t worth it. So head over to a Popeyes near you and join in on the experience of a lifetime.

And if you refuse to try the sandwiches it’s your loss but who am I to care, more for me.
