Jo Stewart, Freelance Writer

Jo Stewart is a Senior at DGS. When they’re not participating in speech tournaments or practices, Stewart is singing in DGS choirs, going to play rehearsal, or practicing guitar. When she’s not at school, Stewart enjoys singing in her rock band The Substitutes.

Stewart is also a part of the International Thespian Society and National Speech and Debate Association, ranking top 60 in the nation for Poetry. While they are currently interning as a Copy Editor at Grain of Salt Mag, they hope to focus their writing and acting skills as a film and Ttevision major in college.

Stewart’s love of film and television stems from a childhood of watching movies and shows with her parents. They are passionate about telling important stories, and are inspired by the opportunities the world of film provides to create community and awareness through media.
