Senior Mustafa Mohajir occupies a unique space in the world of tactile technology with his custom keyboard business. Starting in 2021, Mohajir has learned how to build and create entirely personalized keyboards, carving out a niche in this industry with his individualized builds.
“I customize every aspect of it to the way that they want – literally every part of it. The case, the way it looks, the way it sounds, the typing feel, all those things. It’s a unique product,” Mohajir said.
His business targets the increasingly more prevalent work from home audience, as building home offices becomes more significant, especially after the pandemic.
“People who work on a computer all day or people who work in tech, if they use a keyboard all day and they’re looking to upgrade it to something that’s more personalized, unique and higher quality, then they order a keyboard from me,” Mohajir said.
An often-overlooked aspect of a technological setup, Mohajir realized the importance of keyboards as an avid user and enjoyer of technology, sparking his interest in starting his business.
“People are interested in it because they don’t realize how fundamental the keyboard is, and if you can customize it, then it adds a whole new level of personality to your workspace. I was bridging the gap with the expertise and knowing how to do it,” Mohajir said.
The driving force behind his business is his unwavering passion for the art of building keyboards. He is enamored with computers and keyboards, and his business is a natural extension of his passion.
His business had humble beginnings, beginning as intrigue, then a hobby, until eventually growing to the magnitude that it has.
“One of my friends built a keyboard and then I decided to build one for myself. Then, I realized people were really interested in it because people would see it on my desk and they’d be like, ‘that’s really cool.’ I realized there was a business there because people thought it was an interesting product they’d be willing to spend money on,” Mohajir said.
