Top 10 chicken sandwiches

Andrew Calek

A Chick-Fil-A deluxe meal is all you need to be happy in life

The classic chicken sandwich. Something we all love and enjoy as a delicious treat that we eat from time to time at a variety of restaurants. What seems so simple, can easily be misconstrued as we have seen many fail and many succeed.

Let’s indulge on a delightful journey through the world of chicken sandwiches and where I rank them.

Number 10: White fence farm. With a few locations scattered across the Chicagoland area, the White Fence Farm chicken sandwich isn’t very special. It is exactly what you would expect from a chicken sandwich with average flavor and nothing new to add. This chicken sandwich finds the bottom of the list.

Number 9: Burger King. Best known for the whopper, Burger King should stick to exactly that. This chicken sandwich tasted very sad and bland. One of the least ordered items on the menu for a reason so if I was Burger King, I would stick to the burgers.

Number 8: McDonald’s. The infamous McChicken is a commonly ordered entree at McDonald’s. This chicken sandwich while tasty and convenient is a very lazy sandwich with three tons of lettuce and inferior to many restaurants.

Number 7: Wendy’s. Similar to Burger King, the chicken sandwich is not what these restaurants are known for. The taste is very unsatisfactory and poor and I would definitely order a burger over a chicken sandwich at Wendy’s.

Number 6: KFC. Finally, a restaurant that is known for its chicken. Yet still, KFC falls short to meet the chicken sandwich expectations. I would compare the chicken sandwich to when you go to a concert and they don’t play your favorite song. You’re glad you went because you like the singer, but you could’ve enjoyed your experience even more.

Number 5: Dell Reh’s. One of the more underrated chicken sandwiches on the list and an underrated restaurant altogether. The Dell Reh’s chicken sandwich was actually very delightful and reminds you of the first chicken sandwich you ever had. I would highly recommend giving this place a try or two or three, but no more than that.

Number 4: Raising Canes. The chicken at Raising Canes is some of the best I have ever had. This chicken will melt into your mouth at each bite and along with some texas toast and Canes sauce, you’ll be in heaven.

Number 3: Culver’s. Similar to the artist Drake, Culver’s doesn’t miss. Just like everything else on their menu, the chicken sandwich is extremely appetizing and will make you crave another one.

Number 2: Jewel-Osco. Yes, Jewel-Osco. The first bite I took into a Jewel-Osco chicken sandwich, I started floating and spiritual hymns started emerging from my mouth. The sweet and savory chicken teases your taste buds and you will fall in love immediately.

Number 1: Chick-Fil-A. If I could go back to any moment in my life, it would be the first time I bit into a Chick-Fil-A chicken sandwich. Every ingredient compliments each other like elementary school Valentine’s day. If your mouth doesn’t water at the sound of a Chick-Fil-A chicken sandwich, you have never experienced true happiness.
