Email sent out on Jan. 29 announcing the two upcoming days off.

Now that we don’t have school tomorrow or Thursday, there are 48 hours to fill, so here are 10 great ways to fill them!

    1. Sleep

It’s simple: if you aren’t sleep deprived, you aren’t a high school student. So catch up on all of the sleep you’ve been missing out on.

    2. Practice self care

We all can get stressed easily, and one of the best ways to try and reduce this stress is by practicing self care. Try a new face mask or listen to some calming music.

    3. Watch Netflix

A bunch of new shows and movies have been coming out on Netflix lately. A snow day is the perfect time to take advantage of these new titles and indulge in an uninterrupted binge-watching session.

    4. Hang out with friends

Snow days are a perfect opportunity to make time for your friends that you might not be able to see as much during the week. Take advantage of that–plan something fun and warm you can do together.

    5. Catch up on studying

As much as I’d love to spend these next two days doing nothing but sleeping and watching Netflix, it would be a smart idea to get a head start on some of the work for Friday and next week. Even a quick hour of reviewing material could help, then you can do something fun and feel more at ease.

    6. Exercise

Even if you’re not that into sports, exercising is a great way to relieve stress and feel better about yourself. It doesn’t have to be anything too strenuous, just do whatever you think will make you feel good.

    7. Try something new

From trying a new recipe to finding a new activity, a snow day with a clear schedule is the best time to find a new passion. If you’re interested in trying a new recipe, try looking at the app “Tasty” for inspiration.

    8. Clean out your closet

Even though it may not feel like it, the season will be changing soon, and it might be time to recycle some of your old spring and summer clothes to make room for new outfits. It’ll help you feel less cluttered and also remind you that winter doesn’t last forever.

    9. Re-organize your room

Sometimes in the winter we can get bored and lethargic, a great way to spice things up is by re-organizing your room. It doesn’t have to be anything drastic, just rearranging a few pillows or your shelves can help.

    10. Spend time with your family & pets

When you spend eight hours a day in the same building, you miss out on time with your family and your pets. I plan on spending at least one of these days with my dog.
