Q: How is your DGS experience so far Nathan?

A: “Its pretty good, there is a good and bad to [school] — there are pros and cons. It’s good because it’s a much larger school and you can meet way more people and make even more friends. It’s also bad because it’s much harder than middle school.”

Q: How have you been involved with the school so far this year?

A: “I’ve been on the freshman football team, I play for the College of DuPage hockey team — the Dupage Stars — and I am currently in ACE.”

Q: What do you do for fun?

A: “For fun, I play hockey, basically any sport, I like to hang out with friends and I like to play the guitar”.

Q: What is your funniest experience in school?

A: “During the gymnastics unit I was going to try the pommel horse and I fell off and accidentally ‘pants’d’ myself in front of the entire gym class, it was an all boys class so it was ok”.

Q: Have you been enjoying your classes and do you have a favorite teacher?

A: “I’ve been enjoying most of my classes this year, there’s a couple you obviously look out for because there will be hard work … for the most part the classes are interesting. Same with the teachers, there’s gonna be a couple mean or crazy ones, but as a whole, the teachers are generally very nice. I’d have to say my favorite teacher is my math teacher, Mrs. Painter.”

Q: How has school changed compared to middle school?

A: “It’s a lot bigger, at first it was really hard to find some classes and get used to it but after a while, it gets better. It’s also better than middle school because you have way more friends that you’ll see in the hallway and you get to meet a lot of new people.”
