Everything about sports games is fantastic. Cheering on your favorite team, wearing the merchandise and enjoying the overpriced but delicious food is a recipe for success. For as long as I can remember, sports have been a huge part of my life.
Every time I go on vacation, my family and I go to see a sports game at that state’s home stadium. Depending on the season, that’s the sport we see. So, I thought I’d share the best stadiums to watch a sport for football, baseball, hockey and basketball.
#4. Soldier Field
Soldier Field is the oldest football stadium in America. It opened on Oct. 9, 1924. This historic stadium is an experience, whether you enjoy football or not.
Soldier Field is home to the Chicago Bears. The stadium is outside, so I would make sure you buy tickets to a game with reasonable weather because being frozen makes the experience kind of miserable. Unfortunately, bathrooms are a nightmare to find.
The coolest part is the view of the skyline. And the classic Chicago-style hot dog never disappoints. There’s something about eating a Chicago-style hot dog during a football game that just brings a smile to your face.
#3. Barclays Center
Barclays Center has the best, most invigorating jumbo-trons. In this particular stadium, these are constantly providing entertainment along with the squeaking basketball sneakers. They have little interviews with the players, trivia and fun games to play with your seat partners.
This is especially a plus if you have a short attention span or are watching with children. And when someone appears on the jumbo-tron, they’re practically royalty for the rest of the night. The court has a really cool design too.
#2. The United Center
The Blackhawks are always a good time to see at the United Center. It’s mesmerizing watching their vibrant red jerseys zoom on the ice. The seats aren’t too cramped, so that’s also a plus.
Bathrooms aren’t too hard to find, which is obviously ideal. When they score a goal, a huge visual announcing the point is projected on the ice. It turns the whole stadium red, and it’s invigorating.
I recommend getting a seat as close to the rink as possible, because when the players flood onto the ice, the energy in the stadium skyrockets.
#1.Chase Field
Take me out to the ballgame. Specifically, the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field. There isn’t much I like about the literal oven that is Arizona, except for their baseball stadium.
The stadium is indoors, blocking you from the seething heat. Also, Chase Field by far has the greatest food, just a few examples are burgers, gyros and tons of options for those with a sweet tooth. There’s much more variety to satisfy any craving while watching dust fly and runs rack up.
That stadium really knows how to hype the crowd up: they dim all the lights and will play a snake rattle sound effect throughout the entire building. This is truly an experience you can’t miss.
Overall, you can’t go wrong with a sports game. The stadium, however, makes or breaks the entire experience. Just be wary of the expensive merchandise.
