Top 10 celebrity birthday parties
January 23, 2023
A few balloons, a handful of streamers and a homemade birthday cake just doesn’t cut it when you’re a celebrity looking to celebrate another year of life. They spend millions of dollars on houses, cars and vacations, so why wouldn’t they spend the same on their birthday parties? Ranging from Kris Jenner’s 60th bash to Blue Ivy’s $200,000 first birthday, here are the top 10 most extravagant celebrity birthday parties.
#10: Justin Bieber’s private island 21st
Bieber rented a private island in the Caribbean for his birthday celebration. The star-studded guest list included now-wife Hailey Baldwin, as well as many other A-listers eager to celebrate Bieber’s special day. Now this is one island I wouldn’t mind being stranded on.
#9: Paris Hilton’s five-night birthday event
For Hilton’s 21st birthday, she threw five parties in every big nightlife city. Ranging from New York, Las Vegas, London, Hollywood and Tokyo, an estimated $75,000 was spent on each guest that attended the parties. Attendees included Donald Trump, P Diddy and more. Now that’s hot.
#8: Kris Jenner’s 60th birthday bash
The surprise party, planned by her daughters, portrayed a Great Gastby theme. Complete with crystal chandeliers, balloons, flowers and a performance by son-in-law Kanye West, the party was rumored to have cost $2 million. If anyone could pull off a party with such a steep price tag, it’s the Kardashians.
#7: Taylor Swift’s intimate birthday affair
How could Swift’s small birthday celebration make the list of the most outrageous celebrity parties? Well, when the guest list includes Jay-Z, Karlie Kloss, Beyoncé and Justin Timberlake, it’s hard to deny it as one of the best parties of the year. Although it’s her lyrics that land her on the Billboard Hot 100 list, this time it’s her A-list roster that solidifies her spot on this top party list.
#6: Kate Moss’ four-day extravaganza
For her 40th birthday, the legendary supermodel threw a four-day party at her home in Cotswold, England. The 150 person guest list consisted of Florence Welch and Vivienne Westwood. The party, complete with fire jugglers and face painters, cost close to $130,000. Seems like a fitting party for a supermodel.
#5: Michelle Obama’s 50th celebration
When Obama turned 50 during her husband’s eight years in office, the White House hosted a massive bash celebrating the former first lady. Beyoncé provided the live entertainment, and stars such as John Legend, Jennifer Hudson and Stevie Wonder all made appearances. Now that’s one way to get inaugurated into your 50s.
#4: North West’s “Kidchella”
Thrown by parents Kim Kardahsian and Kanye West, their daughter’s first birthday party was inspired by the music festival Coachella. The event, hosted at Kourtney Kardashian’s Calabasas home, contained a ferris wheel, karaoke stage and mandatory “festival attire.” Good thing he hosted “Kidchella” before pulling out of headlining Coachella in 2022.
#3: Blue Ivy’s $200,000 first birthday
Parents Beyoncé and Jay-Z spent $95,000 on roses and $2,000 on cake for their daughter’s princess-themed party. Although the party was special, it was Blue-Ivy’s gift that really stole the show: an $80,000 diamond-encrusted Barbie doll. Sounds like a party more fitting for a queen.
#2: Kylie Jenner’s pink-themed 21st
The party was completely adorned in hot pink decorations and staff members wore shirts with Jenner’s Forbes cover emblazoned on the back. Other highlights included a ball pit, photo booth and guests such as Bella Hadid, Travis Scott and The Weeknd. Clearly this world’s youngest billionaire knows how to spend her bucks.
#1: Kim Kardashian’s 40th birthday surprise
Hosted on a private island, Kardashian and her intimate guest list of 50 enjoyed dancing, swimming and kayaking. However, the most intriguing part of the celebration was the one-of-a kind gift given by Kanye West. Kardasian received a hologram of her late father complete with a special message to her and her family. Although I’m certain this party was expensive, the gift was definitely priceless.
