Senior football player Kyle Vogt is excited to see what his final season will bring.

Starting senior Kyle Vogt has one last ride of football as a cornerback left with the Mustangs and is thrilled to be starting. Vogt has been playing with the Mustangs since his freshman year and is ready for his last season.

Although this is Vogt’s last season padding up, he is very excited for his senior season and what it will bring.

“I am most excited for the atmosphere. I think it is going to be a good atmosphere at home, and there is going to be a lot of people there. It is going to be a lot of fun being on the field and playing,” Vogt said.

Vogt’s goals are still high even though this is his last year playing football. These goals are not only for his team, but for himself too.

“My goal is to try to work my way up to starting on both sides of the ball at both wide receiver and cornerback. [That] is a good goal for me to set because it helps me work hard and work my way up,” Vogt said.

There are a lot of competitors in the West Suburban Gold Conference, but Vogt is most excited to face Willowbrook and Hinsdale South because of the high energy and intensity of the games.

“Willowbrook has been 27-3 in the last three years, so that’s a good game to win. And Hinsdale South, they are just our arch-enemies. These two teams are always fun to play against on Friday nights,” Vogt said.

Vogt has no plans of playing football in college because his passion lies in the sport of baseball.

“I do not plan on playing football past high school. I play baseball too, and baseball is my favorite sport, so I think I am going to try to play baseball after high school instead of football,” Vogt said.

The next game for Kyle Vogt and the Mustangs is this Friday, Sept. 20 starting at 7:30 p.m.
