Glo Gang 300 wins senior assassins
Every year around spring break, the senior class begins to experience the beginning of the end. However, before the festivities such as grad night and senior awards night can begin, the senior class goes through the annual game of senior assassins. This year, Glo Gang 300 took home the championship.
Glo Gang 300 took home more than $1,400 after knocking out Nick Nelli of Goons with less than 12 hours left in the championship round. Team members George Ross and Vinny Provenzano delivered the finishing blow after staking out Nelli’s house and shooting him after he got out of his car on a late Thursday night. Ross discussed the moment as the craziest moment of the tournament.
“The last night [of the tournament], I had the flu and I was waiting outside Nelli’s house for like an hour in the bushes and the mud and it was wet. It kind of sucked but once I got him it was worth it,” Ross said.
Ross also talked about their teams’ strategy when it came to approaching the tournament.
“We wanted to be aggressive but at the same time be cautious too, so we went out for all of the purges. But every time we would pull into our driveway or garages, we would have our parents or siblings go outside and make sure that no one was there every single time,” Ross elaborated.
Glo Gang 300 spoke about how while it was a triumph for them, they felt an ultimate sense of relief since they didn’t have to look behind their backs all of the time. The reward, Ross said, was still worth it.
“The money’s nice, but the fact that it’s over. The fact that you can just pull into your driveway and walk up to your house and not have to worry about somebody shooting you.”
