Five questions with Ebony Ward
DGS junior and bowler Ebony Ward recently helped the bowling team win conference on Jan. 22. Here are five questions with Ebony Ward.
How has your experience been on the bowling team?
“It’s been great. I’ve learned so much. I’ve truly learned what it’s like to be a part of a team. This team has helped me grow so much and develop great skills that I will need throughout life.”
What is the team goal as you progress through the season?
“Our short-term goal is to win conference. But ultimately our team goal is to use every day to help prepare us for regionals and make it to sectionals or state.”
How is the team doing overall?
“Our team is doing very well. Last night we just found out that we won conference for the second year in a row.”
What has been your greatest challenge on the team?
“Adjusting. We all struggle when we go to a new lane. It’s hard to change what you’ve been doing every day at practice.”
What are your goals for the remainder of your time at DGS and beyond?
“While I’m still at DGS, I want to make All-Conference every season. All-Conference is the top eighteen averages in the conference. So far I’ve made All-Conference all three years. Once I graduate, I plan to bowl in college and to major in accounting. When I was little, I said I would become a professional bowler, so I guess that’s still a dream. But I really love business and learning how to work a company.”
