Top ten Tuesday

There are many superhero movies, but don’t waste your time. Here’s my top ten superhero movies!
- “Wonder Woman”
In all honesty, DC movies tend to flop. However, “Wonder Woman” had an intriguing storyline with a stellar execution made by the cast. The chemistry between all of the actors and actresses really enhanced the movie because the characters were genuine. Out of all the movies that DC has released, “Wonder Woman” ranked as the third highest grossing film. Also, Gal Gadot was the perfect choice because of her natural way of acting — she never once altered her true accent — and her exotic beauty to match an Amazon.
- “The Avengers”
A classic. Superhero movies were always pretty popular but in my opinion “The Avengers” really stirred up the superhero commotion. This film is parallel to DC’s “Justice League” in which it brings a band of superheroes together such as Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye.
- “Captain America: Civil War”
Half-way through the movie, I realized that this was not an “Avengers” movie but rather Captain America’s story because I was distracted by many of the other superheroes that were in it. It was amazing to see this group really be at war emotionally and physically. I think Marvel’s greatest strength and DC’s greatest weakness is showing true heart and soul.
- “Ant-Man”
I always root for the underdog. It’s a fact. Many superheroes have troubled beginnings but “Ant-Man” was actually a thief who was recently released from prison. This movie has heart and it was immensely laced with humor in almost every scene.
- “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2”
Personally, I don’t usually care for alien type movies, but I loved “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.” Maybe it was the stellar soundtrack — especially the first movie — and the humor that got me.
- “Avengers: Age of Ultron”
I honestly just love almost every “Avengers” movie. How can you not?
- “Justice League”
I guess DC comics was tired of being beat by Marvel. Aside from their highly reviewed “Wonder Woman” movie — might I add, Marvel has not released a movie focusing solely on a female superhero yet — they finally stepped it up with “Justice League.” I thought each character brought something new to the table because many of these superheroes haven’t had an introductory movie, the set-up was painstakingly long. It was worth it though, my only wish is that the humor didn’t seem so forced.
- “The Amazing Spider-Man”
Listen, yell at me all you want about how Tobey Maguire was the best actor for Spider-Man, but you will always be wrong. It’s the truth. Andrew Garfield, yes, was a bit too cool for the fumbly character, but he had spunk and captured the essence of a troubled teen. Garfield played Peter Parker perfectly. Unlike Maguire, I wasn’t cringing at every scene.
- “Captain America: The First Avenger”
Probably the cheesiest of the superheroes, I’m a sucker for a vintage-ish storyline. I think Captain America has a stronghold heart that ultimately causes him to shine as a leader.
- “Thor: Ragnarok”
This one was weird . . . and I loved it. If you’ve ever seen the other “Thor” movies, you’ll be a bit confused at first because it’s so different from all of the others. Usually, Thor is a bit more serious so for this movie to circle around humor really helped the audience view Thor with fresh eyes. It’s almost as if the audience got to see a more personal side of Thor.
