Freshman Friday: Nina Pinto
This season, the Pintos JV dance team welcomed another Pinto–literally. Nina Pinto is a freshman at DGS and started off her four years here as a member of the dance team.
“I love the football games, and it’s cool to be with the players on the field,” Pinto said.
Carrying out her last name wasn’t the only reason Pinto decided to join the team. “I like to dance and cheer, and I thought [joining the team] would be a good way to meet friends and adjust to the whole high school experience,” Pinto said.
Outside of dance, Pinto plans on joining more clubs this year and hopes to be a part of the Blueprint Newspaper club.
Pinto’s favorite class at DGS so far has been Biology, “Mr. Gales is really nice and helps you with any problems you have. He also plays music in the morning, so it’s easy and fun,” Pinto said.
Pinto also has two older sisters, Natalia Pinto (‘16) and Mia Pinto (‘18) who have given her advice on how to get through four years at DGS.
“[my sisters said to] focus on your classes, because they help you in the future and each class counts. And that it goes by really quick so you should take your time and never take anything for granted,” Pinto said.
Pinto’s overall goal for high school is to earn straight A’s all four years at DGS and have a good GPA.
“This year, my goal is to meet new people and join more clubs,” Pinto said.
