In the past few years, so many icons have released new music from Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter, Bruno Mars, Harry Styles and many more. While this is exciting for many, some fans are left behind in the dust because their favorite artists haven’t released anything new for years. Here are the top 10 artists who should make a comeback in the next year.
#10: Brittany Spears
An icon in the 2000s, Spears hasn’t made anything new since 2020 with her album Glory. Fans would love her to return to the music scene on her own terms with her own creative input. For now though, many will just have to listen to her iconic hits from her hey day.
#9: Lauv
With his breakout song “I Like Me Better” featuring in the movie “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before”, Lauv has created catchy, relatable songs that just get stuck in one’s head. However, he has not produced an album since 2022, leaving his fans at a loss. Many hope for another album or hit single for the summer.
#8: Train
Full of common household songs, the band Train is known for their nostalgic hit pop music. Although they are possibly touring soon and their old songs are well loved, people would like to hear something new from them. Maybe fans will be able to hear a snippet of something while they are on tour.
#7: Alica Keys
Known for the icon hit “Girl on Fire,” Keys is a staple in many of Gen Z’s childhood. This is what makes the idea of a return from her so enticing for many because they hope she’ll give many more iconic hits just like she did so long ago. Only time will tell though if she’ll end up releasing any new music soon.
#6: The Chainsmokers
One of the most well known bands of today, The Chainsmokers haven’t released anything as a duo since 2022 with their album “So Far So Good.” They had a small release in 2023, but it was mostly collaborations with other artists, so many don’t consider it a big solo release that they once did. The band has released a few remixes in the past couple of years, so they aren’t gone for good yet.
#5: Zendaya
Although she is mainly known for her acting, Zendaya has also had some standout musical performances. She has only released one album in 2013 but has also performed the songs that she sings in the TV show Euphoria at Coachella and has sung on other movies or shows.
#4: Rhianna
As of this January, it’s been one decade since Rhianna has released her last album “ANTI.” While she’s released a few singles for movies like “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” and “Smurfs,” there’s been no album release for a long time. For now, fans will have to be satisfied with her beauty brand Fenty Beauty and occasional voice acting.
#3: Phoebe Bridgers
Since 2020, fans have been waiting for more of Bridgers’ gut-wrenching songs with no release date in sight. In 2023 Bridgers made a group comeback through Boygenius with members Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker, so it hasn’t been completely barren for fans. Though most just want a return to her original solo music.

While he had an album release in 2023, the anticipation around Fetty Wap’s newest album is high for many reasons. One is because many enjoy his music, but the other is because he was recently released early from jail. His recent release has many excited for what his new era of music could bring.
#1: Frank Ocean
It’s been a decade and we all have been ‘thinkin bout you’ Ocean. With his last album released in 2016, fans have been ‘lost’ without his creative and majestic lyrics. Even though the reality of his return is slim, he has been active on social media which keeps the faith that his music will reemerge.
