Over the past seven years, Ariana Grande has yet to announce another tour. Yes, she’s done movies, little shows and a few song releases here and there, but nothing that would send her fans into a complete frenzy.
Until August 2025.
A simple Instagram post, captioned “see you next year,” announcing her 2026 tour for her album “Eternal Sunshine,” caused an uproar in the fandom. The pre-sale was announced for Sept. 9th, and within the short 24 hours, nearly 45,000 people were in the queue to get tickets for each venue. Many people have begun questioning whether those who are buying tickets are true OG Grande fans, or if they’re just mainstream fans.
Following the pre-sale, on-sale tickets became available Sept. 10th. And, once again, over 40,000 people were in the queue. There were questions about why the popular app Ticketmaster allowed people to sit in the queue when tickets were sold out.
Then, following the on-sale of tickets, many people started to invest in resold tickets. Resale tickets were being sold at an outrageous price of $ 1.3 million. Some made jokes about the prices, saying, “Am I buying Ariana herself?” That’s how shocked fans were.
Senior Malikai Douglas, unfortunately, was one of the many people who were unable to get a ticket. “She should know how big an artist she is, and the choice of having it in an arena kind of shows her disconnect between her, her fans, and how famous she is,” Douglas said. Along with Douglas, many people stated that an artist like Grande deserves to have her tickets sell out. Still, not under circumstances like these. Douglas also said, “The ticket prices being $700-$1000 is ridiculous. Again, if she had booked at a bigger venue, she would’ve been able to make the same amount of money by selling more seats at lower prices.”
Grande’s concert in Chicago, IL, is set to take place at the United Center. Yes, the United Center is a large venue, but some think Soldier Field would be a better venue. Could that be a reason tickets are at an all-time high for her? No matter what it is, there’s a clear issue at hand. Grande’s tour doesn’t seem so Grande.
