Nickelodeon’s “Victorious” was a childhood favorite TV show of mine, featuring many marvelous musical numbers that are still considered (by me) quality songs today. From 2010-2013, the teen singers on this show ruled the world. My sister and I watched the show together, and these songs will probably play at our weddings – they’re that good.
Today, I’m ranking the top 10 “Victorious” songs. If you’ve never listened to these songs, you’re missing out.
#10: “Tell Me That You Love Me”
This song was performed by Victoria Justice (Tori) and Leon Thomas III (Andre) in Season 1, Episode 11. 12-year-old me was obsessed with the sweet, upbeat song containing lyrics about willing someone to confess their love. Although it’s not the best “Victorious” song, it definitely needs to make the list.
#9: “You Don’t Know Me”
Elizabeth Gillies (Jade) performed this song in Season 4, Episode 6, and it was my anthem in elementary school. Gillies’ powerful voice and the strong lyrics about not being controlled simply hit different. Plus, this song ultimately got Jade and Beck back together, so that’s a win.
#8: “Beggin’ On Your Knees”
This song was featured in Season 2, Episode 1. Although 12-year-old me had never been cheated on, I loved the vengeful lyrics about making someone regret breaking your heart.
#7: “I Think You’re Swell”
This is one of the sweetest songs on the show, sung by Matt Bennett (Robbie) to Ariana Grande (Cat) in Season 3, Episode 13. Featuring cute yet strange lyrics such as “You’re a piece of dental floss, and I am the teeth” and “You’re Akeelah, I’m the bee,” pulls listeners’ heartstrings.
#6: “Give It Up”
This song was featured in the hour-long special called “Freak the Freak Out.” Performed by Gillies and Grande, the quick, catchy beat was stuck in my head for months after hearing it.
#5: “Make it in America”
Justice performed this song at the big awards show in Season 3, Episode 10. Although I was annoyed that Tori got to sing instead of Jade, this song was worth it. It’s a feel-good song with lyrics such as “I wanna taste the sun, ‘cause baby I’m born to run,” that simply feel like summer.
#4: “It’s Not Christmas Without You”
Performed by the three female leads in Season 2, Episode 12, this tune is one of my favorite Christmas songs. When I think of Christmas, I think of this performance.
#3: “Best Friend’s Brother”
This song made for a great prom tune in Season 2, Episode 5. Sung by Justice, the song is about being in love with your best friend’s brother. With lyrics like “My best friend’s brother is the one for me, a punk rock drummer and he’s six-foot-three” and chants like “BFB, BFB,” the song never misses and is one of my favorites.
#2: “You’re the Reason”
This song is terribly underrated. It was sung in Season 1, Episode 4 by Justice as a birthday gift to her sister, and it contains lyrics explaining how her sister is a constant inspiration. I’m very close with my sister and watched this show with her growing up, so this song holds a special place in my heart.
#1: “Take a Hint”
This song might be the best thing to come out of “Victorious.” Performed by Gillies and Justice in Season 3, Episode 6, this fast-paced song and its lyrics about rejecting frustrating guys has to top off the list. It makes for a great karaoke song, too.
