Makeup is one of my favorite things on this planet, and I consider myself pretty well-versed in the beauty world. I’ve spent an embarrassing amount of money on it too, so might as well put it to good use. Here are my personal tried and true makeup products.
#10: One Size Beauty Setting Powder
This is not the setting powder I currently use (only because it was completely out of stock in my shade); however, the One Size setting powder in the translucent shade is simply amazing. It blurs, it brightens, it keeps your makeup on all day. I love this product so much and I WILL be buying it again when I run out of my current one– nothing compares.
#9: Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Setting Spray
To be completely honest, my favorite part of this product is the way it sprays as a mist onto my face. What can I say, I’m a simple girl; but really, this product will keep your makeup in place and it’s fun to use. It would be higher up, but it is too expensive, because Miss Charlotte’s products are always an investment.
#8: NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in shade Cottage Cheese
I could talk about this product for days– because it’s not just an eye pencil. Sure, put it on your inner corner, put it on your waterline, but the possibilities are endless. Use it as a highlighter and put it on your nose and cheekbones.
#7: Makeup by Mario Contour Stick
I’ve heard way too many complaints about this product and I just do not understand. The formula is simply incredible and it blends like a dream. Not to mention the sleek white packaging with a brush on the other end and the convenient stick formation of the product.
#6: Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation
Amazonian Clay is what I put on my face if I want coverage that lasts all day. It’s a thick formula, which is not for everyday use in my opinion, but this foundation has gotten me through so many performances and 12 hour speech tournaments. Also, SHADE RANGE!
#5: Rare Beauty Liquid Soft Pinch Blush
Rare Beauty Soft Pinch was the product of the hour about a year ago. But I’m pretty sure that most of us who bought this product while it was trending still use it on a regular basis. The colors are absolutely beautiful and the pigment is incredible, but it would be higher up if it blended better.
#4: Elf Brow Lift
I believe that this product is a dupe for the Anastasia Brow Freeze but let me just say: it is so much better. This product keeps your brows in place, gives you a natural look and just enhances your makeup like no other product. The Elf Brow Lift is an affordable star in the makeup world and I will continue to use it until something better comes along, which won’t happen.
#3: Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm (specifically in Pink Sugar)
This lip balm– I know it’s a little bit expensive and if you don’t want to pay $24 for a lip balm, then don’t. But I am telling you, if you do buy it, you will not regret it. It’s hydrating and it gives the most natural shine, with the pink sugar shade giving a nice sheer tint that makes me reach for this one every time.
#2: Aquaphor
Some people might not technically consider this one as a makeup product, but I do. You can use this stuff for anything: put it on your eyelashes, use it as lip gloss and highlight. Aquaphor is multi-talented and incredible in all of its many forms and I never leave the house without it.
#1: Elf Power Grip Primer
This primer is THE makeup product. It was trending for a while, but that does not mean that it’s not good. It’s so sticky, but also hydrating, and if you want your makeup to stay all day, use this, plus it’s $10– absolutely incredible.
