Senior Krrish Patel has been playing video games since he was 12 years old. His love for gaming began when he played Fortnite for the first time, which opened the door to the world of competitive video-gaming for Patel. He played it as much as he could.
Patel remembers the first time he saw someone play video games. He was 11 years old and at his uncle’s house, and his uncle and his friend were playing a game called Call of Duty Black Ops 3.
“I was too scared to get up and ask to grab a controller and play, but that was the first time I saw them play,” Patel said.
Patel usually plays Fortnite with his friends on his Xbox One, which inspired him to join the Esports team at DGS.
Patel played in a private tournament that was being hosted. He placed second, and he believes two mistakes stood in his way for first place.
“The biggest mistake I made was that I forgot to tell my dad that I was in a tournament, and he restarted the Wi-Fi, which caused me to get disconnected,” Patel said.
Patel thinks the second biggest mistake that he made was that he was being too “aggressive” during the game. He would land at “hot spots” and try to attack as fast as possible, which resulted in him getting eliminated very early on.
In another tournament that was hosted by the ISHA for Esports, Patel placed second in the semi-finals.
Patel has had funny moments while playing competitive Fortnite. Patel said that there was a moment when he went into a fight that required him to build walls, floors and stairs. The other person didn’t realize how much they had to build–so they fell to their elimination.
