Top five jokes told about my name
Having the same name as a celebrity has its fair shares of pros and cons, but by far the biggest con is the jokes that are told about my name. While rarely ever ill intentioned, hearing the same jokes for over a decade becomes redundant and at times, even obnoxious. Here is a list of the top five jokes I have been told over the years about my celebrity name.
#5: “I love your work in ‘Transformers’ / ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’.” This one is relatively common and pretty basic. I find it interesting that it is always these two movies and never other cult classics like “Jennifer’s Body” — please diversify your joke range.
#4: “Is that your real name?” Yes. Why would I lie on all legal documents about my name? This one always confuses me and makes me shake my head with disappointment.
#3: “How’s Machine Gun Kelly?” That is a fantastic question. I’m sure he has some address you can send your questions to. Google is free.
#2: “Did you know there is an actress with that name?” No, I actually never knew that. Thank you for informing me on this update.
#1: Singing the hit 2013 song, “What Does The Fox Say?” While this was an isolated incident, it has still stuck with me throughout the years. I think this is due to the fact that it was in a silent library, and I froze up not knowing how to respond.
For those of you who would like to keep making “funny” jokes about my very unique name, at least try to make them a little more original. I want to hear one so good, so unexpected, that I actually don’t see it coming. If you feel the absolute need to make a remark, at least make it one I can add to my list.
