Top 10 Tuesday 12/19

Will Miller, Social Media Director

With finals coming before break this year, us students are left with nothing but boredom and anticipation for the next semester. To help out my fellow peers I have created a list of the best things to do over break.

  1. Ice skating

Toss on a pair of skates and head to the local pond or Maggie Daley Park for a fun time of carving ice.

2. Skiing/snowboarding

If you enjoy any type of thrill and the outdoors, winter sports are perfect for you. It combines the thrill of going down a mountain with beautiful scenery.

3. Drinking hot chocolate with pals

Whether it’s Swiss Miss or Hershey, warming yourself up with some delicious hot chocolate with your friends is destined to be a good time.

4.Going sledding

Grab a few friends and head over to the best sledding hill in Downers Grove — O’Brien Park.

5.Collect pine cones

We all know how Chicago winters can go from below zero temperature to 40 degrees in a matter of 24 hours. So on those nice, non-freezing days you can go out to Waterfall Glen and collect some pine cones.

6.Snowball fights

Nothing is more fun than controlled violence. Build a fort and fight till your fingers can’t bend.

7. Chill in an outdoor hot tub

Nothing feels better than running outside where it’s freezing then jumping in a hot tub.

8. See a movie

Star Wars came out last week and some still haven’t got the chance to see it. Winter break is the perfect time to catch up on movies.

9. Watch hockey

We are blessed to live in a city with one of the best hockey franchises of all time. Enjoy watching Patrick Kane tear up the ice this winter break. Let’s go Hawks.

10. Post-Christmas shopping

I don’t know about you, but sometimes my family doesn’t always get me that one desired gift so I have to get it myself.
