Monday, Nov. 13: There will be a 9:20 a.m late arrival. There will also be a vision and hearing screening that will take place in room C149B. It will start at 9:20 a.m. through 5:30 p.m. The Girls Varsity Basketball team will be competing at Yorkville today.

 

Tuesday, Nov. 14: The Ace Leadership Club will be leaving for their Leadership Day field trip at the Downers Grove Park District. Come support the Jazz Band as they perform their concert in the auditorium from 7-8 p.m.

 

Wednesday, Nov. 15: At 9:45 a.m. students will be filming for student activities. At 2:30 p.m. bowling practice will begin. At 3:30 p.m. the varsity gymnastics’ team will start their practice.

 

Thursday, Nov. 16: DGS underclassmen photo retakes will be held in the Auditorium from 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. The Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee meeting will be held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Downers North Alumni Room.

 

Friday, Nov. 17:  There will be an additional vision and hearing screening in the Auditorium and Little Theatre throughout the school day. The girls varsity swim team will be competing at the IHSA state finals at around 1:00 p.m.

Natalie Casas is a senior at DGS and is the Online Entertainment Editor for the Blueprint. She has been a member for the past two years and hopes to end with a bang!

In past years, she had been on the Speech Team, Masque & Gavel, Swim Team and Radio Club. With the experiences with public speaking, several english classes along the way, she hopes to have a career utilizing the tools she has gained.

Through it all, she continues to fill her pleasure of music in her everyday life. She was in band for five years and choir for three years. She also writes poetry, reads articles, exercises, works at her job, watches youtube and keeps herself up to date with what is going on in the world.

Casas plans to attend College of DuPage for two years. Then attend Columbia in Chicago for Multi-media Journalism and Broadcasting. While in school, she aims to do as many internships as possible. She is willing to go the extra mile to gain knowledge and lead herself toward her dream career, as a Reporter/TV talk show host.
