Alumni Nora Joy is excited for her future as a Golden Eagle when she attends Marquette University in the fall.

Nora Joy is a graduating senior in the class of 2023. During her time as a Mustang, she was a varsity runner on the girls track and cross country teams. She also played clarinet as a member of the Wind Symphony. Joy reflected on what she is excited about for her future and advice for incoming seniors.

Q: What are you looking forward to most after graduation?
A: I’m mostly just looking forward to the summer, but I’m also really excited for college and having more free time and independence.

Q: What are your academic plans for the upcoming years?
A: I am planning on going to Marquette. I have not really determined a major yet, I’m still undecided on that.

Q: Why did you decide to attend this college?
A: I decided to attend Marquette because I really like the location in Milwaukee and its proximity to Downers Grove. I also really liked the campus a lot.

Q: What advice would you give to a current senior on the college application process?
A: I would say start the process as early as you can and just have an open mind because you never know what you might like.

Q: What would you tell an incoming senior about how to be prepared for and enjoy senior year?
A: Personally I would say make sure that your course load is not too much because the last thing that you are going to want to be doing senior year is taking a bunch of hard classes. Try to be present, live in the moment and enjoy the last year of high school.
