Watching one of my favorite childhood shows to reminisce on old memories.

I turn 19 this year and there’s not a day that goes by where I don’t wish I could be four years old again sitting in front of the TV. Especially with the pandemic, I’ve realized how fragile time is; I wasted my whole childhood wishing to be a big teenager, but it sucks. So I thought I would take a little trip down memory lane and share some of my favorite top 10 nostalgic sounds.

#10: Digitally THX Mastered

This sound would be respectfully put last on my list, but the second I hear it I instantly think of my mom yelling at me to turn the volume on the tv down. It definitely is a nostalgic sound most of us would recognize from many movies, but it always scared me for some reason because the noise would feel like it was rattling the house.

#9: Chowder

This used to be one of my favorite shows to watch on Cartoon Network, but now that I relisten to the theme song it’s just obnoxious. Basically the whole show is about a purple animal causing trouble and he understands nothing. When I hear this theme song I remember going to my friend’s house every friday where we would watch 10 episodes on on-demand.

#8: Microsoft Window

I know technology has improved a lot, but in my house we used to have the tiniest box computer years ago. I used to always ask to go on so I could play my barbie video game, and this sound was always the first thing I would hear when I turned it on. It brings back very special memories because I remember how excited I would be to play on the computer.

#7: Wii Sports Intro song

Everyday in the winter or even summer nights, I vividly remember forcing everyone in my family to play wii sports with me. I won’t even lie, I would leave this intro song on for a good 3 minutes just because I thought it was catchy. But this is the one console I had during my childhood and the wii is what my parents would tell me to play on if I was bugging them or bored.

#6: Nintendo DS

The Nintendo DS was my favorite game to bring around. I used to bring it to sleepovers with my friends, family events and long car rides. My favorite game was Scooby Doo and Petz nursery. I still have my DS buried somewhere in my room, but just hearing this sound makes me think of my childhood and playing for hours on end with my friends.

#5: Reese’s Puffs commercial

Everytime I ate cereal at the breakfast table and I’dturn on Nickelodeon to watch Spongebob, this commercial would turn on. I’ve never eaten Reese’s Puffs before, but there was always something about this little rap that was so catchy. Eventually I memorized it and 5 years later I still know it by heart.

#4: Scooby Doo theme song

One of my favorite memories when I was little was watching Scooby Doo with my Dad. Everytime we would hear the theme song I would get up and dance and run in circles. This is one of my favorite nostalgic theme songs, and I get flashbacks everytime I hear it.

#3: Fosters imaginary home for imaginary friends theme song

Although this wasn’t my favorite show as a kid, my sister and I would watch this show daily. I remember sitting by the fireplace in our mini bean bags, nodding our heads to the theme song. I’m still convinced I only watched the show because of the intro song.

#2: Dragon Tales theme song

This is the one show I’ve constantly reminisced about with my friends. There was something about the theme song that made it seem magical. My eyes would always light up, so everytime I hear it I think of how excited I used to get watching the show.

#1: Disney blu-ray trailer

This trailer still puts a smile on my face. Watching Disney movies was already exciting, but just hearing this trailer felt like fireworks exploding in the sky. It always brings back memories of old movies from Disney.
