The 2026 Formula One season is revving up, and fans are more excited than ever. Viewership in America reached its highest-ever point as the sport gains new fans every day.

However, this season is set to bring some changes. Last year, Formula One unveiled its updated rules and regulations for the 2026 season.

This season, Formula One will introduce the Cadillac F1 team, an American-based team featuring two fan favorite drivers, Checo Perez and Valtteri Bottas. Cadillac released its livery, or what its car will look like, in a Super Bowl commercial. The color scheme features black and white detailing to match the team’s overall colors.

Fans will also say goodbye to Kick Stake Sauber, as this year the team will become Audi. Instead of the old green and black livery design, Audi unveiled a red, grey and black design for the rebrand of the team.

However, the new team isn’t the only thing that is changing this season. New regulations will give the sport a different feel than in years prior. This year, the cars will be shorter, thinner and lighter. This is partially in response to many of the fans who felt overtaking was made too difficult because of the width of the cars in their current state.

Additionally, fans will have to say goodbye to DRS, drag reduction system, which included the rear wing opening a flap that allowed the drivers an extra eight mph. This season, teams will implement active aerodynamics. This allows cars to adjust both their front and rear wings depending on where they are on the track. Teams will also be able to utilize “overtake mode,” which allows for the deployment of extra electrical energy when a driver is gunning for an overtake on track.

The season officially kicks off on March 6 in Australia for the Australian Grand Prix, where many hope they will pick up right where we left off, with competitive title fights, for both the Constructors and Drivers championships.

Last year Lando Norris took home the Constructors Championship in a tight battle between reigning champion Max Verstappen and his Mclaren teammate Oscar Piastri. This year, many people are wondering if Ferrari will be able to make more of an impact on the grid as last year they weren’t able to find success with Charles Leclerc and seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton, taking home fourth in the Constructors Championship.
