Sophomore Mariah Ezell brings sweetness to her community through her home bakery. As a baker, she is multifaceted. Every week, she handcrafts an assortment of elevated flavor combinations for all her baked goods; ranging from red velvet brownies to pink lemon cookies to seasonally themed rice krispie treats.
“I make cakes, cookies, brownies, muffins, all of it,” Ezell said.
She started baking just a year ago in December 2024, and has already built her customer base with over 50 loyal customers. For Ezell, baking carries on a family tradition, one that sparked the inspiration for her business.
“My grandma bakes a lot, but also my cousin a little bit, because she has her own baking business too, and I started around the same time, so it was just a fun idea,” Ezell said.

What started as a fun hobby turned into something much greater, when she realized she had unique goods to sell and a story to share.
“I started by making cookies for my friends and then I just started just selling. I usually sell cookies whenever somebody asks for them, or sometimes I’ll put up a menu on my page, and people place orders, and I make them and sell them,” Ezell said.
Ezell’s business is driven by her passion for the art, and warmth that comes with her creations. She believes that people should face their fears and follow their passion, as it can encourage growth and contentment.
Ezell actively accepts weekly orders through her Instagram account which can be found here.
