Senior Jadynn Bruce is the kind of person who’s hard to miss. Whether it’s scaling rock walls, planning the perfect prom, creating this year’s yearbook or reflecting on her future, she’s always on the move– physically, mentally and socially.

Bruce’s dedication is evident in everything she does.

“I’m a pretty motivated person. I feel like the more I’m interested in something, the more I’m motivated,” Bruce said.

When Bruce isn’t balancing schoolwork and planning prom with Class Board, you’ll find her rock climbing, a passion she stumbled upon almost three years ago.

“I rock climb pretty often, two to three times a week,” Bruce said.

What started as just an activity to keep her busy is now not just about staying active—rock climbing has become a lifestyle.

“It’s kind of flown by. What keeps me doing these activities… is just because I really like the community and the people,” Bruce said.

In her free time outside of rock climbing, Bruce spends her time thrifting, making her own jewelry, nannying and listening to music. Attempting to see as many of her favorite bands as possible, Bruce has curated playlists to create an early 2000’s, new metal and rock mood to her Spotify profile.

Senior Jordan Reynolds, a close friend of Bruce, lies in awe of Bruce’s commitment to her authenticity and dedication to her passions.

“She never ceases to amaze me with what she can do and what she is capable of,” Reynolds said.

Bruce’s friends are her support system, for any and everything from having fun to providing guidance.

“My friends are definitely my biggest supporters with all this college stuff…they’ve been giving me ideas of things everyone thinks I’d be good at,” Bruce said.

Her family also helps her through life’s obstacles.

“My parents are definitely good advisors through all of it, giving me ideas of things I could do,” Bruce said.

Bruce isn’t exactly sure what her future looks like yet but she knows she is headed in the right direction. She remains open-minded as she considers her options.

“I’m going to do College of DuPage for at least a year, figure out what I want to do, get my gen-eds done, and just use that time to take a couple extra classes to figure out a major,” Bruce said.

This mindset speaks to her thoughtful approach to life—she’s not rushing to have it all figured out but is willing to take time to explore options and discover her true calling.

“She reminds me that I need to have fun and enjoy this time, because I have the rest of my life to figure things out,” Reynolds said.

With the support of her friends and family, Bruce’s newest challenge is to achieve 15 pull-ups by the end of 2025. Whether it’s in the gym, on a rock wall or in her future plans, there is no question Bruce will achieve the goals she sets for herself.
