Listening to music is a daily occurrence for the majority of people. However, few take the time and effort to take note of the rhythms, sounds and melodies that make up the greatest songs in order to create and produce their own. This creation is the reality for Junior Ethan Figueroa.

Figueroa has been involved with choir programs for 7 years and has been recognized as an ILMEA all-state musician. But for him, music has never been about accomplishments, but simply an outlet.

“Music has always been something that’s allowed me to express my emotions when I have been unable to in other ways. It’s really just something that I really am in tune with when it comes to how I experience things,” Figueroa said.

In the most recent months, life for Figueroa has centered around writing and producing his original music. Delusional Love, released on Jan. 16 2025, will be the first of many songs,

“The process of releasing my first song has been a lot of work for me. Because all of the production, the composition of the melody and chords, were done by me, it definitely took a while for me to really get it all fine-tuned to how I wanted it to be. But at the current state, it is something I’m very proud of,” Figueroa said.

The single will be Figueroa’s debut in the world of music. With this release, he aims to connect with new audiences and reach those who need it most.

“I hope that people who need it will find my music. When I write a song, I always write it to express my own emotions, and I want to reach someone who needs it for that moment, and hopefully it’ll help them, as writing helps me,” Figueroa said.

Figueroa, though making his debut, already has numerous supporters awaiting the first listen to give their support and take a listen to a much-anticipated song.

“Go listen to it; it is really one of, if not the most, vulnerable songs I have written that I’m willing to release, just stream it when it comes out,” Figueroa said.
